One of Solano's best dummers, Dion Duncan brings his love of jazz and soul to Ozcat Radio. His first influence was his father, a Latin percussionist with the Charles Moffitt quartet. Throughout his high school years he competed with the likes of Rodney Franklin of the Berkeley Jazz Combo and Patrice Rushin of the Concord Area. Dion and his Richmond High Jazz Ensemble won top awards four years consecutively at the Monterey and Reno Jazz Festivals for High School and College competition.
Dion's musical influences range from Santana, Chick Corea, Tower of Power, Confunkshion, Sly and the Family Stone, Graham Central Station & David Sanborn to name a few.
Dion has been a musician playing throughout the Bay Area as well as Reno and Tahoe in casinos such as Harrah's, The Peppermill, the Atlantis, and others for the past 20 years. He has played wth many great local bands, including One nation with Ozcat's David Martin. He is currently jammin' locally with the band, Solid Ground.
