I had originally composed this song about the Cayman Islands for my friend, Dick Cushman, legendary throughout the Caribbean for his shark wrestling exploits as well as his
Irie hospitality.
"Cay-man" was inspired by the memories of those many wild and wonderful times. The sunsets, ocean breezes, good friends and comraderie warm our hearts to this day.
"Cay-man" eventually became rewritten as "Hey Man" and the rest is history.
I am very excited that my song"Anyway" is getting ariplay on Cayman Islands Radio statio, ZFZZ, Grand Caymen Isle.

Conscious Roots
Gather 'round brothers and sisters,
I've got one thing on my mind
It's about the way that we
Live today in these troubled times.
City streets are a jungle today,
Not a safe place for no one to play.
Bars on windows, Triple locks on each door.
Fear is in control.
Hey Man!
Hey man!
You know, you know it's true.
We gotta change
The way
We're living our lives today.
Hey Man!
Hey Man!
You know, you know it's true.
We gotta change
The way
We're living our lives today.
Welfare mothers and the sky high crime.
Unemployment rate to blow your mind.
Blacks and whites still fuss and fight.
It really doesn't matter who's wrong or right.
Politicians gotta lower the taxes, yeah, yeah.
Give the power to the people back
So we can live our lives happy and free
Not in poverty and misery.
Repeat Chorus
